With the better weather here a refreshing Portuguese sangria is what you need to hit your sweet tooth cravings 🍷🍊. Perfectly balanced with a hint of citrus, a splash of Licor Beirão, and the sparkle of Sumol! 🌿❤️

Ingredients;

– ½ apple, thinly sliced
– 1 small lemon, sliced
– ½ orange, sliced
– Fresh mint
– 3 tbsp sugar
– 1oz Licor Beirão
– 2oz Macieira
– 1 bottle of dry red wine
– 7up or Sumol
– 2 cups ice cubes

Prep:

1. Place the fruit in a glass jar, add the sugar and a couple of mint leaves.
2. Use a muddler or a wooden spoon to lightly pound the fruit to release some juice without breaking down the fruit too much.
3. Add the Licor Beirão, Macieira, red wine. Stir thoroughly to combine the flavours.
4. Pop the jar in the fridge for at least 30 minutes.
5. Add the ice and Sumol to the sangria before serving, stirring well.
6. Serve and garnish with more fresh mint and fruit.
