🔥 Portuguese Bife de Atum Recipe
Ingredients:
• 2 fresh tuna steaks (sliced in half to make 4 thin fillets)
• 1 tsp salt
• 1 tsp garlic powder
• 1 tsp sweet paprika
• 2 tbsp pimenta moída (Portuguese crushed red pepper paste)
• 2 tbsp olive oil
• ¼ cup white wine
• ½ red bell pepper, finely chopped
• 2 garlic cloves, minced
• ¼ cup water
• Fresh parsley for garnish
Steps:
1️⃣ Slice the tuna steaks in half to create 4 thin fillets for quicker cooking and more crispy edges.
2️⃣ Marinate with salt, garlic powder, paprika, and pimenta moída for at least 30 minutes.
3️⃣ Sear in hot olive oil for 2–3 minutes per side, until golden and crispy. Remove from the pan.
4️⃣ Make the sauce: In the same pan, add white wine, more pimenta moída, red bell peppers, parsley, garlic, and water. Let it cook until the peppers soften.
5️⃣ Serve with my chickpea salad and spoon that rich, flavourful sauce over the tuna.
